Where are they now? : Team Secret’s TI6 roster
It has been almost a year since TI6, but it’s memories are still etched in our brains. TI6 provided us an unforgettable experience with epic match-ups like EG vs EHOME, EG vs DC and many more. But, let us take a closer look at a team which was touted to win the tournament; Team Secret.
Team Secret was on a roll before going into the International Dota 2 Championships 2016, winning the European Qualifiers with ease and finishing second to Na’Vi at the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2. A squad which consisted of one of the world’s best players, it was expected of them to win TI6.
Pre-TI6
Despite Team Secret winning the Shanghai Major, w33 and MiSeRy were kicked out of the team to make place for Arteezy and UNiVeRsE, who joined in from Evil Geniuses. A series of disappointing results led to UNiVeRsE leaving the team, only for BuLba to replace him immediately. With a dream roster in place, Team Secret looked like they could defeat anyone who stood in their way.

At the event
Day 1
Team Secret started off strong with a 2-0 drubbing of VG.R but they couldn’t take a series win against Korean team MVP.Pheonix as they drew 1-1.
Day 2
The fans saw an entirely different Team Secret as they lost 3 series straight to EHOME, Fanatic and DC resulting in them dropping to the lower bracket places.
Day 3
It was a mixed day for Secret as they lost 2-0 to Newbee while winning against Team Liquid. But, this didn’t help them as they dropped to the lower bracket pitting them against LGD Gaming in a Best of 1 series.
The Main Event
Team Secret ended their campaign on a disappointing note as they crashed out of the tournament losing to LGD gaming. They finished in the last place taking home a meager total of $103,852.
Post TI6
The post TI6 shuffle saw Arteezy, EternaLEnVy and Bulba leave the team in a controversial fashion. MP, MidOne and Forev joined in but that didn’t last long as Khezu replaced Forev as their offlaner. They had a shaky start with the new roster as they failed to qualify for the Boston Major. But, the Kiev Major qualifiers saw a new and resurgent roster as they took the European Qualifiers by storm. Finishing unbeaten in the group stages at the Kiev Major, Team Secret were once again made the favorites. But, that hope didn’t come true as they were ousted by a valiant SG e-sports in the round of 16.
