Dota 2 TI6 News: Main Event Results and Highlights (Day 4)

Today we’ll be spending most of our time in the Lower Bracket of TI6. Be on the lookout for the All-Star match, also scheduled for later today.

Every time I think to myself, this year’s International just can’t get any better, I find that it does. After slaying DotA titans, OG, MVP is cast to the underbracket by Wings in round 2 of the upper bracket.

EG fared better than MVP, continuing in their domineering DotA to eventually crush Ehome in a white-knuckle 2 game series. Game 1 was truly a display of restraint, with EG holding out against long odds to take the game from Ehome.

In the Lower Bracket, Fnatic continued in their charge toward the Aegis by soundly beating Alliance 2 to 0. This being Alliance’s second loss in the tournament, they’ll be headed home, leaving only team Liquid left to represent the European region.

Liquid managed a comeback after being outplayed by Newbee in the first game of their series. I, for one, did not believe they had a comeback in them, but the following two games Liquid refused to give Newbee a single inch to maneuver. The series ended in Liquid’s favor, 2 to 1.

And that’s how things currently stand moving into Day 4 of the main event!

Alright guys, you should know the drill by now, but just in case you’re arriving late to the party, allow me to give you some details. The next scheduled games will begin shortly after current games finish, so don’t expect too much down time in between matches.

The TI6 broadcast kicks off, as per usual, at 10 AM PDT. You can expect the first game to get started with the draft beginning at 10:30 AM PDT.

Post and Viewing Details

With the conclusion of each game, I’ll be updating the results and posting highlights. Be patient with those highlights clips. It may take a little bit of time before they become available.

Highlights: a lot of fluff, but still pretty fun to watch. The match itself was pretty down to the wire. The big new – UNDERLORD IS AMONG US.
