28. Witch Doctor

I’ve never met a doctor as chill as this guy, but if I were toting around the full complement of nasty hoo-doo this guy does, I’d be pretty chill too. An adept Witch Doc can prevent escape with Casks, cripple tanks with Maledict, and reduce an entire team to the grave with his Death Ward.

Hero counters: Phantom Lancer, Faceless Void, Medusa, and Natures Prophet are our top picks for carries against the Doctor. Where utility’s concerned, we like Tusk, Lich, Elder Titan, and Silencer.

Item counters: For all his nasty toys, Witch Doctor is pretty squishy. Get around his front line with Blink Dagger and Shadow Blade/Silver Edge, then break his brittle bones. Items that interrupt his Death Ward (Eul’s/Guinsoo’s) or pop him with burst damage (Dagon) are worthy considerations.
