21. Anti-mage

This high-mobility, potentially high-damage spellcaster slasher is a slippery fellow. His passive spell resistance and Blink make him an escape artist among escape heroes. An AM that knows what he’s doing will be difficult to keep down.

Hero counters: carry: Carry heroes that we’ve noticed do well going tit-for-tat with AM are Phantom Assassin, Chaos Knight, Drow Ranger, Meepo, Slardar, Alchemist, and Broodmother. When making a utility play, prioritize Keeper of the Light, Shadow Demon, Dazzle, Enigma.

Item counters: Orchid’s silence and extra damage will keep AM from weaseling out of your traps. Eul’s to Guinsoo’s can be an effective way of keeping him off int heroes. AM’s quick attack speed and reliance on auto-attacks makes Blademail a valid option for tankier heroes.
