4. Naga Siren

She’s a little more fragile than many hard carries, and she’s also more flexible role-wise, being able to be played as a pusher, disabler, escape, support, or initiator. Using her ult, Song of the Siren, she’s able to freeze up all enemies in range, allowing her (and her allies) to get into the best position possible for a team fight.

3. Huskar

A true berserker, Huskar gets more and more powerful as his health decreases. His Burning Spear ability costs him health to stack damage on adversaries even as his passive, Beserker’s Blood, increases his attack speed and magic resistance. This is a great hero for training balance. You want your health to be low enough to snag his passive bonus, but not so low that enemies can kill you.

Luna, the moon rider, can focus the light of the moon into a Lucent Beam of pure hatred. Her Moon Glaives bounce between units and buildings, making her a powerful pusher as well as a carry. At level six, she can use the ability Eclipse, which unleashes a gattling gun of Lucent Beams, making her a deadly opponent in one-on-one combat.

1. Drow Ranger

Taxex, the Drow Ranger, has a long history in DOTA. In a patch long since passed, she could summon an ice wall to block opponents and creep. These days her abilities are more suited to the carry and pusher roles, though she also has potential as a disabler. Drow’s strength lies in punishing enemies with her Frost Arrows from a distance. To perfect your Drow play, you’ll have to learn the art of kiting an enemy until the kill shot is released.
